Remarkably, AS with Gymnema helps you control your sugar cravings while it strengthens the pancreas. The pancreas, in turn, produces insulin, a hormone that helps control blood sugar by assisting the sugar molecule in entering the cell for utilization.
How it works
Scientist have been busy studing Gymnema Sylvestre for the last few years since they discovered its ability to nourish and replenish the insulin-making cells in the Islets of Langerhans of the pancreas. Gymnema contains gymneic acid that, when chewed, temporarily knocks out your tongue's taste for both bitter and sweet. (This effect is harmless and wears off within hours). The Hindu name for this herb is gurmar, meaning "sugar destroyer.
In the small intestine, the herb apparently discourages the excessive absorption of dietary sugar (including artificial sweeteners). The net effect is to lower the desire for sweets while benefiting functions of the liver and pancreas.
Soothing marshmallow and psyllium fiber (to absorb excess sugar in the diet), add to the uniqueness of this combination. AS with Gymnema is especially valued by those on weight-management programs.
Take 2 capsules one hour before meals three times daily.
